# Find pages to get your brand onto Updated: 1 Oct 2026. Source: https://www.botsay.ai/docs/where-to-get-in Open Where to get in from Work. It lists pages on other people's sites that the engines read or linked while answering a question that named a rival, with a label for what to do about each page. Rows are ranked by how often the page was read or linked. ## Where do I find Where to get in? It is a page inside the Work place. Open it from a **Take part** or **Ask to be listed** item on the **To do** tab, using the link under the item: **Which videos and threads** or **Which pages**. [Work out what to do next](https://www.botsay.ai/docs/work) covers those items. The page covers one week, the newest week BotSay has worked out, and names the week at the top. A count of pages sits at the top right. ## Which pages qualify? A page is listed when an engine cited it in an answer that named a rival, and it is on neither your sites nor a rival's own site. 1. An engine cited the page, by linking to it or reading it, in an answer in that week. 2. That answer named at least one rival you track. 3. The page is not on one of your own sites. 4. The page is not on a rival's own site. BotSay counts the pages left out for the last two reasons and says so in a note each, for example "2 pages on your own sites are not listed here." The rival note adds that a rival will not add you to its own page, so the work is to publish a better answer yourself. ## Does the list check that an answer left me out? No. The list checks only that an answer named a rival, whether or not it also named you, and the page says so. An answer that named both of you still counts. The column headed with your brand name, **Tessera on page**, tells you whether your name is on the page itself. ## Why does it need a brand marked as yours? Without a brand marked as yours, every brand reads as a rival and every cited page would qualify. BotSay therefore shows no list and no count, and asks you to mark your brand in Setup. [Set your brand, sites and rivals](https://www.botsay.ai/docs/you-and-your-rivals) has the steps. ## Why do some rival pages still appear? BotSay can tell a rival's pages apart only if it knows the rival's websites. The page says so when sites are missing: "None of your rivals has a website listed yet.", "One of your 6 rivals has no website listed yet." or "3 of your 6 rivals have no website listed yet." Pages on those sites are then read as ordinary sites. Add the websites on the **Rivals** tab in Setup, Brands and the list tells them apart. ## How is the list ranked? By the **Read or linked** figure, highest first, then by address A to Z. **Read or linked** counts every time an answer that named a rival either linked to the page or read it, across all engines in that week, with no de-duplication. The page shows the top 50. If there are more, a note says "Showing the 50 pages read or linked most often." and how many more are in the export. The cited-pages figures under Evidence count something narrower (distinct links from finished answers), so the two do not match. A note under the table says so. [What the Evidence page shows](https://www.botsay.ai/docs/evidence) explains those figures. ## What are the columns? The table has six columns. - **Page**: the address, with the kind of site under it (Company site, News or blog, Official body, Community and social, Reference, Review or analyst site, or Other). - **What to do**: one label per row, with a key under the table. - **Engines**: a mark for each engine that cited the page. The key under the table names them. - **Read or linked**: the count described in the ranking. - **Rivals named**: the rivals named in the answers that cited it. - **Tessera on page** (your brand's name, or **Your brand on page** if none is marked): **Yes**, **No** or **not checked yet**, which means BotSay has not looked at the page yet. ## Which What to do label does a row get? The label follows the kind of site, unless your name is already on the page. The table shows each pairing. | If | The label is | | --- | --- | | Your name is on the page | **Already there** | | Company site | **Ask them** | | News or blog | **Pitch them** | | Community and social | **Take part** | | Reference | **Check the entry** | | Official body | **Get listed** | | Review or analyst site | **Claim your profile** | | Other, or not classified | **Take a look** | BotSay classifies the kind of site from the address, unless you or a confirmed brand site decided it. Where the kind is Other, BotSay says it could not tell what the site is and does not guess. ## What should I do for Pitch them, Ask them and Take part? The action depends on who writes on the site: a publication, another company or a community. - **Pitch them**: the site publishes articles. Offer a contributed piece, an expert quote or data worth citing, through an editor or contributor page. - **Ask them**: another company, not a rival, writes here. If you work with them, ask for a partner listing, an integration page or a customer story. - **Take part**: people discuss and review this market here. Answer the questions your product fits, or post a video that does, from an account that says who you are. ## What should I do for the other labels? Each of the other five labels asks for a different action, from nothing at all to claiming a profile. - **Already there**: you are named on the page. There is nothing to ask for. - **Check the entry**: the engines lean on this reference. Read what it says about you and correct it through their own process, not by editing the page yourself. - **Get listed**: an official body or a directory. Find the listing or submission process, apply, then keep the entry up to date. - **Claim your profile**: review sites list vendors whether or not they take part. Claim or complete your profile, then ask your customers to review you there. - **Take a look**: open the page and see what it is. ## How do I narrow the list? Use the two rows of pills above the table. **Show one engine** has **Every engine** and one pill per engine, and pinning an engine counts only that engine's citations. **Kind of site** has **Any kind** and one pill per kind. **Clear filters** appears when either is on. If nothing matches, the table says "No page matches these filters." with a link, **Show every page**. The pills also carry into the export. ## Can I mark a page as done? Not on this screen, because rows have no status control. Track the work with **I am on it** and **Mark done** on the **Take part** and **Ask to be listed** items on Work, which are built from this list. [Work out what to do next](https://www.botsay.ai/docs/work) covers them. ## How do I export the list? Press **Export CSV**, beside the filter pills. It downloads `gap.csv` with every qualifying page, not only the top 50, narrowed by whichever engine and kind pills are on. [Export your data as CSV](https://www.botsay.ai/docs/exports#what-does-the-where-to-get-in-file-hold) lists the columns and explains the stored values. If you start many exports in a short time, BotSay answers "rate limited". Wait a minute and try again. ## Why is my list empty? Each empty state says something different. - **No brand marked as yours**: mark one in Setup, Brands. - **"This list arrives on" a date**: the weekly figures have not been worked out yet. Nothing is wrong. - **"Your first week of links arrives on" a date**: no links were recorded yet. - **"We have not read all of this week's answers"**: the answers are collected and still being read. A page qualifies only once an answer's brand mentions are read, so the list fills as reading finishes. - **"This list needs an answer that names a rival and links to a page you do not own. You have none of those yet."**: the week is fully read and nothing qualifies. That is a result about the week. - **"No page matches these filters."**: your pills hide everything. Tessera, Novaly, Pinefield, Kestrel Pay and Orbita are invented brands, used here as examples.
