LLMrefs writes your questions from keywords
LLMrefs says you track keywords, not questions, and it writes the questions from them (its home page). The questions behind your figures are chosen by LLMrefs, not by you.
BotSay asks the questions your buyers ask. You add them one by one, or accept the ones BotSay suggests from your website address, and you can read every one. BotSay then asks the same questions every week, so when a figure moves, you know it moved on the questions you chose.

LLMrefs says its data is significant, and publishes no method for it
LLMrefs says its results are weighted to ensure statistical significance, and its visibility page says it manages the engines' variation through multiple runs and statistical sampling. LLMrefs' site does not publish how many times it asks each question, a likely range for any figure, or a test for when a change is real. Its getting started guide publishes no method yet.
BotSay shows its working. Your Mention rate comes with its likely range, the span the true rate almost certainly sits in, and the number of answers behind it. When the rate moves, BotSay runs the exact test on both weeks and labels the change as real once it clears their combined uncertainty. Share of voice, Average rank, Your pages cited and Sentiment show each week's figure and how it moved. Below, an invented brand's Mention rate over eight weeks, with one real change.
The figures as a table
| Week | Mention rate | Likely range (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Seven weeks ago | 26.9% | 24.2 to 29.7 |
| Six weeks ago | 27.5% | 24.8 to 30.3 |
| Five weeks ago | 26.4% | 23.8 to 29.2 |
| Four weeks ago | 27.2% | 24.5 to 30.0 |
| Three weeks ago | 28.1% | 25.4 to 31.0 |
| Two weeks ago | 27.4% | 24.7 to 30.2 |
| Last week | 27.8% | 25.1 to 30.7 |
| This week | 34.0% | 31.1 to 37.0 |

LLMrefs runs daily and reports weekly; BotSay reads one fixed set every week
LLMrefs' plan lists weekly reports, and its FAQ says every keyword is updated in the dashboard at least once per week. Its visibility page says it runs its questions across engines daily. LLMrefs describes how it reaches the engines only as respectful, compliant access to AI engines and APIs.
BotSay asks the same questions of the same six engines every week: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. It asks through each provider's official developer access or a licensed search-data provider, with web search switched on where the engine offers it. For every answer, BotSay shows the searches the engine ran to write it, on the answers and sources view. Your reading arrives in the weekly email.

BotSay ranks the work by how many questions it could win
LLMrefs shows content gap insights and content and outreach opportunities. Its site does not say how it ranks them.
BotSay's action list gives each item the number of your questions it could win, with the answers that show it:
- Pages to write: topics where rivals are named and you are not.
- Places to be mentioned: the review sites, communities and publishers the engines lean on, and whether you are on them.
- Quick decisions: small choices that make your numbers more accurate, like confirming which sites are yours.
Once you publish, BotSay follows the questions that work was meant to win and labels the change in Mention rate when it is real.
What you gain with BotSay
- The buyer questions you choose, asked the same way every week.
- A likely range and answer count on your Mention rate, and a label when a change is real.
- Six engines on every plan, at a fixed monthly price with three plans to choose from.
