Promptmonitor alternative: how BotSay compares
BotSay and Promptmonitor compared: the engines on each plan, how answers are counted, whether rank is tracked, and how each shows whether a change is real.
Written by the BotSay team.
BotSay tracks five measures on six engines, Average rank among them, on every plan. Your Mention rate comes with a likely range, and BotSay labels a change when it is real. Promptmonitor does not track rank, and Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode start on its Pro plan. Every fact about Promptmonitor here comes from its own site, read on 6 Oct 2026, and is listed under Sources.

Promptmonitor does not track where you rank
Promptmonitor does not track position. Its metrics page says position fluctuates in every answer. Promptmonitor's Visibility Score blends how often you are named, weighted 80%, with how many models name you, weighted 20%. A blended score moves when either part moves, so a change in it does not say which one did.
BotSay reports the five measures one by one: Mention rate, Share of voice, Average rank, Your pages cited and Sentiment. Being named fifth in a list and being named first are different results, and Average rank tells them apart. Below, an invented brand's standing against its rivals on the five measures.
- 1Novaly41.2%
- 2TesseraYou34.0%
- 3Pinefield26.3%
- 4Kestrel Pay19.8%
- 5Orbita12.1%

Promptmonitor does not publish a likely range or a test for a real change
Promptmonitor's docs say daily refreshes give 30 responses a month and a reliable picture. Its site publishes no likely range for any figure and no test for when a change is real. More responses alone do not tell you whether a figure moved by more than chance.
BotSay gives your Mention rate a likely range, the span the true rate almost certainly sits in, and shows how many answers it rests on. When the rate moves, BotSay runs the exact test on both weeks and labels the change as real once it clears their combined uncertainty. The full method is on How we measure. Your reading arrives in the weekly email.
Promptmonitor counts responses, and caps them each month
- By default Promptmonitor reads each question on 3 models: ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini (usage and limits).
- Promptmonitor counts one response for each model and each location, every time a question refreshes.
- Promptmonitor caps responses each month: 2250 on Starter, 4500 on Growth and 14000 on Pro.
- Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode start on Promptmonitor Pro.
So on Promptmonitor, reading more models or more places draws down the same monthly cap. BotSay asks every question on all six engines, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, on every plan, with no cap on answers. It asks through each provider's official developer access or a licensed search-data provider. Promptmonitor says it uses a combination of scraping AI chat apps and APIs, and does not say which engine is read which way.

- Promptmonitor Starter is $29 a month for 25 questions, Growth $39 for 50 and Pro $129 for 150. Promptmonitor shows each price beside a higher one struck through: $49, $66 and $219.
- BotSay Starter is $59 a month for 60 questions, Growth $139 for 150 and Scale $359 for 400, each on all six engines, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode included.
BotSay's price is fixed each month and includes everything: all six engines, the competitor panel, the action list and your results. There are no add-ons. The plans differ only in how many questions they read.
BotSay ranks the work by how many questions it could win
Promptmonitor's Actions page lists the searches AI models run and the sources they cite without naming you, and advises focusing on the sources cited most often. A count of citations says how busy a source is, not how many of your questions it could win.
BotSay's action list gives each item the number of your questions it could win, with the answers that show it:
- Pages to write: topics where rivals are named and you are not.
- Places to be mentioned: the review sites, communities and publishers the engines lean on, and whether you are on them.
- Quick decisions: small choices that make your numbers more accurate, like confirming which sites are yours.
For every answer, BotSay also shows the searches the engine ran to write it, on the answers and sources view.
