Is my AI visibility score real?
How to know a number is one you can act on, and repeat with confidence.

The short answer
You can rely on a score when you know what it was counted from and how sure it is. Ask three things of any number: how many answers it is built on, how wide its likely range is, and whether a change is bigger than that range allows. With those answers, you can act on the number.
Three questions to ask of any number
How many answers? A rate from 20 answers can move a long way on one reply. A rate from 1,000 holds steady. The count tells you how much weight a number can carry.
How wide is the likely range? 34.0%, likely between 31.1 and 37.0, tells you far more than 34.0% alone. The narrower the range, the smaller the move you can see.
Did it really move? A quick check: when this week's range sits clear of last week's, the change is real, and you can say so. BotSay runs the exact test for you, which also finds real changes whose ranges overlap a little.
A worked example
Here are two weekly readings of one brand's mention rate, each from 1,000 answers. Last week it was 27.8%, likely between 25.1 and 30.7. This week it is 34.0%, likely between 31.1 and 37.0. The two ranges do not overlap, so this is a real change: up 6.2 points.

How BotSay answers all three
Every BotSay figure carries its count and its likely range, and every week-to-week change is labelled, so you know which moves are real before you report them. The full method is on How we measure. To choose how many questions to track, read How many questions do you need to track AI visibility?
