What the This week page shows
This week answers one question first: did anything change since the last reading? Under the answer it shows where you stand against rivals, the other four measures, what changed in the answers, and the work waiting for you.
What is on the This week page, top to bottom? #
The page has five parts, in this order:
- The edition line: which week, how many engines have been read, and when the next reading arrives.
- The headline, with your Mention rate figure beside it.
- The Where you stand card, which ranks you against the brands you track.
- The other four measures: Share of voice, Average rank, Your pages cited and Sentiment.
- A last section with What changed in the answers, Is it working and Your work.
A first reading and a week still being read draw less of the page.
What does the edition line say? #
The edition line names the week in bold, for example Week of 14 to 20 September, and says how far the reading has got.
- All 6 engines read, 228 answers. A finished week. When the newest engine finished, it adds Complete since and that day.
- Still reading: 5 of 6 in. A week still being read. It names the engines that have not finished.
- Your first reading. 6 engines, 228 answers. Your first week.
A finished week then shows an Earlier weeks link, which opens Standing, Over time, and Next reading followed by the day and date of the next one. A week still being read shows Figures marked provisional may still change instead.
What does the headline say? #
The headline is one sentence about your Mention rate, and it says so when nothing moved. It takes one of these forms:
- A move bigger than chance would produce: Your mention rate rose and you are in second place. The line under it gives both weeks' figures.
- No move bigger than chance: it names your place and says nothing moved beyond what chance would produce. The line under it says how big a change would have counted.
- We cannot say yet whether anything moved. There is nothing sound to compare with, and Why a number is blank or shows a range explains each reason.
- Your first reading is in. The first week never compares.
- Five of six engines are in. A week still being read.
With no rivals tracked, the headline leaves out the place.
What are the figure and the line under it? #
Beside the headline is your Mention rate as a large figure, with a note that says how it was counted: 57 of 228 answers. Likely 19.8 to 31.0%.
The first part is the number of answers that named you out of the answers read. The second part is the likely range, the span the true rate probably sits inside. What the five measures mean defines Mention rate, and the same article covers the other four.
For a final week, a small line chart shows your last readings, up to six, with the likely range as a band behind the line and a dot on the latest. It is drawn only when its last point matches the figure beside it.
What is the Where you stand card? #
Where you stand lists the top four brands on Mention rate, each with a place number, a bar and the figure. Your own row is shaded.
If you rank below fourth, your row takes the fourth line so you always see yourself. The title says how many brands are ranked, for example "of 5 brands". Brands that print the same figure share a place, so two brands on 7.8% are both second and the next is fourth. A brand with no figure has no place and is never ranked last. A Full standings link opens Standing, described in Compare yourself with rivals on Standing.
What does the line under the standings say? #
The line says how many points you are behind the leader and ahead of the next brand, for example "3.7 points behind Novaly. 1.4 points ahead of Pinefield."
When two brands print the same figure it says Level with and the brand name. It adds a note when a gap is small enough for chance to explain. It states a gap only when both brands' counts are on record, because a gap without a check could read as a real lead. A line that cannot be written is left out. A first reading shows no such line.
What is the row headed The other four measures? #
It shows Share of voice, Average rank, Your pages cited and Sentiment, estimated, with a link, By engine and over time, to Standing.
Under each figure sits one of these:
- A verdict: up 1.0 point, down 2.3 points or no real change. Average rank reads 0.12 better or 0.12 worse, because a lower rank is better.
- Last week 13.1%, when there is no verdict to give. This is a plain comparison with no colour and no claim.
- Week of 24 Aug 2026: 13.1%, when the weeks between measured nothing and BotSay compared with an earlier week.
A first reading shows no row, because there is no earlier week.
What does What changed in the answers show? #
What changed in the answers lists up to three rows, each drawn only when it is true.
- Which engine started or stopped naming you on most questions, for example "ChatGPT started naming you on 12 questions". The link is See them.
- Which engine names you least and which most, with the link Compare.
- Whether any theme moved beyond what chance explains, with the link Themes.
The first cell is a count or a word. A count carries a plus or minus sign and a colour only when the gain or loss is bigger than chance explains. On a first reading the block says Nothing to compare yet. If no row can be written, the block is left out, so it never reads as "nothing changed".
What does Is it working show? #
Is it working compares how often answers named you on a published piece's questions before and after you published it. It labels the piece with its date, for example Published 1 Sep 2026.
Two boxes can appear instead:
- No work marked published yet: when you publish something from Your work, mark it, and its result shows here.
- No result yet: a result shows from the first reading after the date you gave.
If results cannot be read, the section says We cannot show results right now, and the rest of the page stands. Work out what to do next explains how to mark a page as published.
What does Your work show? #
Your work shows at most three lines: the first topic to write about, the first decision waiting for you and the first thing you are doing.
Setup nudges fill any lines left over. The first line has the accent button. A link such as All 5, with your count, opens Work. The line above each title names the kind of work: Write, Take part, Ask them or Decide. In-progress work reads Doing since with a date. The buttons are Open, which opens Work, Decide, which opens the place where you make the decision, and Mark published, which says you published the piece. With nothing waiting, it shows Nothing is waiting on you.
What does This week show for a first reading? #
A first reading shows the edition line Your first reading. 6 engines, 228 answers, then the headline Your first reading is in. with the count of answers that named you.
It draws the Where you stand card but no Full standings line, no row of other measures, and Nothing to compare yet in place of the changes. The figure's note adds One reading is a wide range: it narrows each week. When your first numbers arrive covers the wait before it and what to expect.
What does This week show while a week is still being read? #
A week still being read says so once, in the edition line, with Still reading: 5 of 6 in. and the engines not finished.
The headline counts engines and makes no claim about movement. The figure and every measure in the row of four carry Provisional. The standings card is replaced by Last finished week, with its dates and the top three of that week, and the note Standings update when the reading is complete. What changed in the answers, Is it working and Your work are not drawn until the week is final.
Why does This week show no figure? #
This week shows an empty state in place of the figure when no brand is marked as yours or when the reading is not ready.
- No brand is marked as yours, with the link Mark your brand in Setup. Until you say which brand is yours, there is nothing to say about how you did.
- This week's figures are not ready yet, or Your first reading is not in yet, each with a line saying when it fills. The first means the week has been read but there is not yet a figure. The second means your questions have not been asked yet.
A part of the page that fails to load says We cannot show that part right now, with a Reload button. The rest of the page is not affected.
Tessera, Novaly, Pinefield, Kestrel Pay and Orbita are invented brands, used here as examples.
