What data BotSay stores
BotSay stores your questions, the brands you track, what the engines answered and the figures worked out from them. A question you stop asking keeps its history. The Privacy policy at www.botsay.ai/privacy is the authority on privacy and deletion.
What does BotSay store about my workspace? #
BotSay stores measurement data about brands and web pages, rather than about people. According to BotSay's privacy policy, that means:
- The questions you wrote.
- The brands you track, their other names and their domains.
- What the AI engines answered, and what BotSay read from those answers: which brands were named, in what position and how they were described.
- The web pages the engines cited, and a short quote from the answer as evidence for each mention.
- Summary figures worked out from all of these.
- Records of which readings happened and what failed.
What does BotSay store about people? #
For a customer, BotSay stores a name, a work email address and a role, according to its privacy policy. A record of settings changes is kept as well. It is the log you read on What changed here, described in What admins and members can do.
The policy states that there is no profile, no behavioural tracking, no page-view history and no device fingerprinting. Card details go from your browser to Stripe. They do not reach BotSay's servers.
What does BotSay send to the AI engines? #
BotSay sends the text of one question, and usually a two-letter country code. Nothing else. The engines receive no customer identifier, no user identifier and no account information.
Because a question leaves BotSay by design, do not put personal data or confidential information into one. A question should be the sort of thing a buyer would ask an assistant. BotSay's policy also says it does not use your data to train any AI model.
How long does BotSay keep my data? #
When an account ends, BotSay keeps its data for 30 days so you can ask for an export, then deletes it soon after, and always within 60 days. The Privacy policy at www.botsay.ai/privacy sets out how long each kind of data is kept. The Terms of service at www.botsay.ai/terms cover ending your account and getting your data.
If you want a copy of anything before an account ends, Export your data as CSV covers the downloads in the app today.
What does Stop asking do to a question? #
Stop asking takes a question out of the readings and keeps its history. Open Setup, Questions, open the question and choose Stop asking. BotSay confirms with "Stop asking this question?" and says: "It is not asked from the next reading. The answers it already has are kept, and you can start it again from Stopped in this list."
Any member or admin can do it. A stopped question is listed under the Stopped filter. Choose Start asking again to bring it back. Manage your questions and themes has the steps.
Stopping a question also makes room under your plan's question limit.
What does Reword do to the old question? #
Reword stops the old question, keeps its answers and adds the new wording as a new question. The same words go to the engines every time, so a new wording is a new question.
Can I delete a question and its history? #
No. A question can be stopped and its history is kept, and that is how a question leaves the readings today. There is no control that deletes a question or its answers.
Where are the privacy documents? #
BotSay publishes three documents.
- Privacy policy: www.botsay.ai/privacy. It covers what BotSay collects, who receives it, where it is processed and how long it is kept.
- Terms of service: www.botsay.ai/terms. It covers ending your account and getting your data.
- Data Processing Addendum: www.botsay.ai/data-processing. The Privacy policy refers to it.
BotSay processes data in the United States.
